Re: Operational Change - Temporary At-Home Learning for ALL Grades 10-12 Students

Due to the recent number of students and teachers/staff isolating and the operational challenges in Rosemary School, Grasslands has made the decision to temporarily move to at-home learning for all Grades 10-12 students effective immediately (June 3).

All students will return to in-person classes on June 14, provided they pass the daily screening checklist/questionnaire.

You can expect further information from the school by Friday regarding your student’s at-home learning program. Online classes will begin on June 7th. We understand decisions like this may cause additional challenges for families. This transition is necessary from an operational standpoint and was not a decision made lightly.

We remind families to monitor for any signs or symptoms of COVID-19 using the Alberta Health Daily Checklist. Please remember to complete the checklist each day prior to attending school.  If you or a member of your family has any of the symptoms of illness listed, please fill out the online Alberta Health Services COVID-19 self-assessment or call Health Link at 811.

We know this news can be distressing and supports are available.  You are encouraged to visit our family resources  or COVID-19 and Your Mental Health for additional helpful information.

Please rest assured that we will continue to work closely with Alberta Health Services and the Medical Officer of Health in the South Zone to ensure that we follow their ongoing recommendations.  Please do not hesitate to reach out to your school principal with any questions you may have.  Thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,

Scott Brandt, Superintendent
